I dream of vacations some days. Not just a trip to the beach or a visit to the mountains. The Volvo has taken those, and they were pleasant. These days my dreams are bigger: A trip to Sweden to the Goteborg Sweden Factory Delivery Center. A test drive on the private Volvo track and a tour of the factory. Years ago as part of a Rotary Exchange Program, I toured a Saab factory in Finland. I've toured the Nissan plant in Mississippi. Those were fine tours for sure, but I'd like one day to see how the Volvo factory stacks up. It's just a dream, but a fine dream to me. Where would your dreams take you?

Volvo goes to the Parish meeting
My trusty ol' Volvo took me this morning to the Parish meeting and back home. The prayer that opened the meeting offered guidance not just for a church meeting but for every day we live. Here's how the prayer reads: ... Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What is a 3 Volvo Life?
Well, it's a rich, full life with three old, paid for Volvos (what other kind of car is there?), two almost-of-the-house daughters, a dog and cat, friends and family. Some days my Volvos, a 17-year-old 240 wagon and twin 10-year-old S70s. seem the most dependable part of my life. Other days that's hardly the case. But somehow I still love them and, like my children, wouldn't trade them even on the days when they disappoint.
